Eight Months Later

It had been eight months since Zell was killed. Sometimes I still couldn’t believe he was behind every tragic thing that happened in my life. He deserved to die a slow death for everything he did to me and everybody else. Some of the stuff he did was just downright crazy. I was just happy he was a memory, and I could move on with my life.

Kee was nowhere to be found. Nobody had heard from her since she was texting Zell’s phone after he was killed. Jay and Baker went to her old house and the hospital she was working at more than a few times looking for her. She moved out of the house and quit her job for some odd reason.

Jay tried his best every time they went to get her information from the receptionist, but she maintained her professionalism every time and never gave out Kee’s information. They decided to give up on going to her job, but they never stopped looking for her. Jay even put money on her head. Nothing had come up yet. Kee was hiding out real good.

Light taps on the bathroom door broke my train of thought. I looked in the mirror and gave myself the once over before I opened the door. I couldn’t believe I was about to go to the church for this wedding. My red hair hung past my shoulders in a bone straight wrap with a part in the middle. The long strapless white dress I had on fit my body like a glove. Having the twins changed my body completely. I was something like a vixen, and I loved it.

The taps on the door continued. I rushed to open it and gasped at the sight. “Oh, my God!! Londyn, what happened to your dress?”

“My juice did it, Mommy. B.J. made it fall out my mouth.” The only thing I could do was laugh at the story she told on her baby brother who was only three months old. I grabbed her hand and pulled her in the bathroom. Londyn was standing there with red spots all over her white dress.

“Babygirl this dress was made just for today. You’re the flower girl. Daddy might be mad if you don’t have your dress on. He paid a lot of money for our dresses.”

“But I’m Daddy’s little lady,” she smiled. Londyn still had Baker wrapped around her finger. She always will.

“I can’t argue with that babygirl. We gon’ put another dress on you after I go check on your brothers.”

Londyn ran to her room while I went to the living room to check on B.J. and Zayden. They weren’t identical twins, but they both looked every bit of their father even at their young age. It looked like Baker spit them out. I called them my little heart breakers. They had those same bluish gray eyes that Londyn and Baker had. Zayden was Baker’s complexion, while B.J. developed my medium brown complexion.

I walked in the living room and saw a big red spot in the middle of the carpet.
